Day 18: Loving Myself about the Day of my Death

Lord Jesus, what do You want to say to me about the way You love Yourself and the way You want me to love myself?

Darling, I have something very important to say to you about loving yourself today: I love the way I have chosen for you to die.

I love the timing I have chosen for you to die. Your death is very, very important to Me. It is significant. It is completely in My hands, not yours. I have given you no authority over it whatsoever. It is entirely Mine. You are not allowed to help Me with it. It is murder and sin if you try to help Me. It is faith and trust if you don’t.

Dearest, your death is precious to Me, precious in My sight (Psalm 116:15). I have been planning it from eternity past. It is part of the story I am writing for you. It is not the end of the story I am writing for you–by no means is it the end–but it is a very significant episode in it, and one I do not need help with. You may do anything you wish to try to live, but you must never do anything to try to die. Do you understand?

Not even to wish for it. I do not even want you to wish for your death. I do not even want you to talk about wishing for it, because that is not an option for you. Your death is both a trial and a gift that you must receive from My hand, when it comes, how it comes, and as it comes, then and only then. In the meantime, you must live for Me. “To live is Christ” (Philippians 1:21)–that means that to refuse to live is to reject Christ in your life. “To die is gain”–but only I can give you that gain. It comes from Me. It must never be stolen.

I love Elizabeth and I never want you to kill her, not even to protect her from evil. Jesus suffered more than you ever will and He didn’t bail out by suicide before the cross. Trust Me about when and how the gift will come, the gift of the death I planned for you from eternity past. You don’t have to be afraid.

It is a sweet thing to receive My gift and a bitter thing to refuse it and try to create your own death. I do not want that for you. I have a good plan. I will ease your spirit from your body/flesh. I will take it to Myself. I will hold you there. I will resurrect you again sinless and flawless and spotless. I will live with you forever. I will be your sun and moon and breath and water on the new earth. I will care for you always. Trust Me.
